1:56 p.m.: Shoplifting, East Main Street. Police received a report of a shoplifting incident at Phipps Liquor Store on East Main Street. Police reported that a suspect attempt to steal two bottles of alcohol and left the store. The clerk had reportedly stopped the perpetrator and no arrests were made.

2:27 p.m.: Fraud, walk-in. Police received a report of a resident who had been reportedly scammed after their computer froze. The person was reportedly contacted by who they believed to be customer support following the computer’s malfunction. The fraudulent customer support reported that he had been hacked and that they could solve the issue through a series of scans. They requested a payment of $1,499 to fix the problem and the resident gave his account information to pay. He later became suspicious but the amount was withdrawn. Police are investigating.
