Major crime and incident report

4 p.m.: Identity fraud, walk-in. Police received a report of fraud that occurred regarding a resident’s identity. Their identity was used to purchase several cell phones without his consent. No loss was reported however, and the bank was able to prevent the purchases. Police are investigating.
5:32 p.m.: Larceny, walk-in. Police received a report that the complainant was “scammed out” of $2,200 by an individual who was allegedly selling a vehicle on Craigslist.
5:33 p.m.: Hit-and-run accident, East Main Street. Police received a report of a hit-and-run accident that occurred on East Main Street involving a vehicle that would cause another accident a short time after. The person whose vehicle was hit and stayed at the scene claimed no injuries. The operator of the vehicle that fled was Ryan A. Pasquini-Pezzeni, 25, of Westfield.
7:34 p.m.: Accident, Main Street and Meadow Street. Police received a report of a motor vehicle accident involving the vehicle from the prior accident that was operated by Pasquini-Pezzeni. Pasquini-Pezzeni reportedly ran a red light and struck a vehicle operated by David Matyseck, 68, of Westfield. Both Pasquini-Pezzeni and Matyseck were transported to hospitals, with Matyseck going to Baystate Medical Center and Pasquini-Pezzeni going to Baystate Noble Hospital. Matyseck died of his injuries. Police arrested Pasquini-Pezzeni and charged him with motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence of liquor, red light violation, speeding, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of personal injury.
10:01 p.m.: Motor vehicle violation and arrest, Main Street. Police reported that the initially stopped a vehicle operated by Dmitriy V. Pyatachenko, 23, of Westfield, after noticing that the vehicle he was driving had an expired inspection sticker. Police were able to spot used heroin wrappers and found that Pyatachenko had multiple forms of drugs on his person. Pyatachenko was arrested and charged with possession to distribute a class A drug, three counts of possession of a class B drug and one count of possession of a class A drug.
