12:05 a.m.: arrest, East Bartlett Street, a patrol officer reports a routine check of a man encountered revealed him to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Anthony C. Volino, 20, of 689 Skyline Trail, Chester, was arrested on the warrant;
12:14 a.m.: suspicious activity, Court Street, a caller reports loud and rowdy youths are pulling up signs in his front lawn, the responding officer reports he found that youths were found lying in a flower bed with a sign while another took a picture of them, the youths were identified as WSU students and one was seen to discard a water bottle containing a blue liquid, the 18-year-old young woman was cooperative when queried and admitted there was alcohol in the bottle, a city ordinance violation was filed and the youths left the area after replacing the sign;
12:59 a.m.: disturbance, Meadow Street, a caller reports a college aged party is disturbing her peace, the responding officer reports 140-160 persons were dispersed from the residence where police have responded twice already this school year for similar complaints, two tenants were identified, Olivia J. Murphy, 20, of 363 South Main St., Cohasset and Amanda Baker, 20, of Chelmsford, were each arrested for being a person younger than the legal drinking age in possession of liquor and for disturbing the peace;
1:20 a.m.: disturbance, Maria Drive, a caller reports her former girlfriend assaulted her and vandalized her vehicle before leaving in a described vehicle, the responding officer reports he saw the departing vehicle and stopped it before speaking with the caller, the caller said that her former girlfriend and another woman came to her residence and a verbal altercation devolved into a physical confrontation, the caller said that while her former girlfriend confronted her she heard a crash before the third woman called to encourage the suspect to depart and she subsequently found that a window of her vehicle had been smashed, no charges were filed, see 5:19 p.m. Sunday entry;
9:59 a.m.: larceny, East Silver Street, an off duty supervisory officer reports he observed a woman shoplift a scarf at a drug store, the responding officer reports that the woman was served a ‘No trespassing’ order and the first officer will follow up on the issue when he is next on duty;
1:29 p.m.: illegal burning, Jefferson Street, a caller reports heavy smoke in the area, the responding firefighters reports the resident was advised of the pertinent regulations and extinguished the fire;
1:32 p.m.: arrest, Washington Street, a detective reports he interviewed a suspect in a larceny case, Hector Luis Lauriano, 28, of 132 Walnut St., Agawam, was arrested for larceny of property valued more than $250, breaking and entering a building in the daytime with intent to commit a felony and for receiving stolen property valued more than $250;
2:02 p.m.: fire, North Road, a caller reports a campfire is smoldering in the woods, the responding firefighters report the caller guided them into the woods for about 15 minutes before they reached an area with a small campfire, the fire was extinguished;
4:47 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Elm Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to be suspended, Taylor Demers, 20, of 27 Collins St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for a marked lanes violation;
5:07 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed;
5:14 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Court Street at Pleasant Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
7:27 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Main Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed;
8:28 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Southampton Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
10:17 p.m.: disturbance, Rogers Avenue, a caller reports two step brothers are fighting, the responding officer reports he found that one of the step brothers was head butted by his step brother when he attempted to intervene in an altercation the man was engaged in with his father, Robert M. Maynard Jr., 32, of 126 Union Street, was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship, during the booking process the man was found to be in possession of a variety of pills which had not been prescribed for him and he was also charged with possession of a Class B drug;
11:23 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Union Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired, the vehicle was towed;
11:50 p.m.: disturbance, Bush Street, a caller reports a loud college-aged party, the responding officers report they were able to see through the windows about 20 person and numerous beer cans and bottles, the officers report that someone eventually responded to prolonged knocking on a door and when they entered they saw street signs in plain view, the signs were seized and peace was restored.
