1:06 a.m.: liquor law violation, Mechanic Street at Cherry Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a male party drinking from a can of beer on Mechanic Street, a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
1:34 a.m.: noise complaint, King Street, a caller reports an overly loud college aged party, the responding officer reports 25-30 young people were dispersed and the tenants were advised of the possible consequences of a similar complaint;
1:54 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, South Broad Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a vehicle cross the center line and operate in the wrong lane for a distance before coming to rest with the driver’s side nearest to the curb, the officer reports the operator failed a field sobriety test, a pre-tow inventory of the vehicle revealed a spring loaded knife, a double edged knife and a box of shotgun shells, Dylan T. Piersiak, 20, of 768 Chestnut St., Needham, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, being a person younger than the legal drinking age in possession of liquor, possession of ammunition without an FID card, a marked lanes violation and two charges of carrying a dangerous weapon;
6:48 a.m.: animal complaint, Westfield Police Department, 15 Washington Street, a resident came to the station with an elderly black Labrador retriever dog which she said has been following her and appears to be lost, the animal control officer was notified and transported the dog to the municipal animal shelter;
10:58 a.m.: disturbance, West Road, a caller reports a disturbance with his brother, the responding officer reports the caller’s brother said that the man had thrown a bar stool at him during an altercation and a witness supported his account, Brian D. Clark, 21, of 624 West Road, was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship;
1:22 p.m.: found property, Sackett Street, a landlord reports that while cleaning an apartment he discovered a hidden handgun, the responding officer reports that the pellet handgun was transported to the station;
1:32 p.m.: alarm, Elm Street, a caller reports a carbon monoxide alarm is sounding and items in her apartment have been disturbed, the responding firefighters report no carbon monoxide was detected and the responding officer reports that the woman’s property was probably disturbed because she is squatting in a condemned building where renovation work is underway;
2:35 p.m.: breaking and entering, Little River Crossing, 93 S. Maple St., a caller reports he came home to find that the front door of his apartment had been kicked in and property missing, the responding officer reports that the caller said that his rent money, $500, was stolen from an unlocked book safe, the man said video games were also stolen;
4:13 p.m.: breaking and entering, Brookline Avenue, a caller reports property including a watch, a Kindle and cash was stolen from her home, the responding officer report the victim identified two persons of interest who had been at her home recently;
5:19 p.m.: disturbance, Belleview Drive, a caller reports her former girlfriend punched her, the responding officer reports that the complainant said that her former girlfriend pushed her and the officer noted signs of minor injury, Christina E. Lally, 27, of 54 Belleview Drive, was arrested for assault and battery in a domestic relationship;
7:51 p.m.: found property, Fowler Ave., a caller reports she has taken custody of a bicycle which was apparently abandoned on her street, the responding officer reports the bike was transported to the station for safekeeping;
8:21 p.m.: breaking and entering, St. Paul Street, a caller reports the front door of her residence was kicked in, the responding officer reports the resident does not know when the door was forced open but said that nothing was found to be missing;
10:01 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the vehicle’s registration was found to be expired and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard.
