11:06 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Crown Street, a community policing officer reports he learned of an unregistered vehicle parked at a residence, the officer reports the apparent owner was not at home but a message was left for him;
11:30 a.m.: fire, Cherry Street, a caller reports smoke and flames are coming from a light fixture, the responding firefighters report a fire of electrical origin was extinguished, the residence was ventilated to remove smoke;
11:33 a.m.: fire, Westfield Industrial Park Road, illegal burning was reported, the responding firefighters reports illegal burning in a rubbish receptacle was extinguished;
12:10 p.m.: breaking and entering, Genesis Spiritual Life Center, 53 Mill St., a caller reports a shed was broken into and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that a maintenance shed was entered and a chain saw was stolen;
12:31 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Southwick Road, a patrol officer reports he observed a motor vehicle violation and stopped the vehicle, the officer reports that a routine check revealed the operator to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Amanda L. Eicher, 25, of 14 Holland Ave., was arrested on the warrant;
12:48 p.m.: assault, Orange Street, a resident came to the station to report that he was assaulted by a known party, the responding officer reports the complainant said that he was walking Orange Street and saw a male party who had dated the same woman he has dated, the complainant said that the man punched his face for no apparent reason, a criminal complaint was filed;
1:26 p.m.: suspicious activity, Egleston Road, a caller reports a vehicle parked by her mailbox and two women exited who she believes may have stolen her mail, the responding officer reports the caller said bill payments which had been left in her mailbox for pickup contained checks which she thinks have been stolen, the officer reports he advised the caller to contact her creditors to see if the checks were received, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the detective bureau;
2:38 p.m.: found property, Rail Road Avenue, a resident came to the station to surrender a 300-foot tape measure found on Railroad Avenue;
5:19 p.m.: officer wanted, Pumpkin Lane, a caller reports his cell phone was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that he left his cell phone on a counter at a liquor store and when he returned for it he found it gone, the caller said that he was able to track the phone to a Pumpkin Lane residence were the resident denied possession of the phone and his tracking application showed it’s location change while he observed a vehicle leave the residence, the officer reports a clerk at the liquor store said that a regular customer picked up the phone and said he would give it to his son, the clerk said that the customer did not respond when he suggested the phone should be surrendered to police, the officer reports the clerk said that he will get the customer’s information the next time he comes into the store;
7:31 p.m.: arrest, Jefferson Street, officers were detailed to attempt to serve an outstanding warrant, the officers report that Des’ray King, 17, of 7 Jefferson St., was arrested on the warrant without incident;
9:41 p.m.: arrest, Jefferson Street, officers were detailed to attempt to serve an outstanding warrant, the officers report that Michelle I. Parker, 27, of 651 Holyoke Road was arrested on the warrant without incident;
11:05 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Chapel Street, a traffic bureau officer reports he observed and stopped an overloaded vehicle, the officer reports that 10 college aged youths were in the vehicle which has five seat belts;
11:07 p.m.: suspicious vehicle, Leonard Avenue, a caller reports a vehicle had been parked near her driveway but nobody has exited it, the responding officer reports the two occupants were engaged in “recreational activities” and were sent on their way.
