2:41 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Road, a patrol officer reports a routine check of a vehicle revealed that the registration had been revoked for lack of insurance, the plates were seized, the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard and the operator and a passenger were provided a courtesy transport to a Pochassic Street address;
8:51 a.m.: burning complaint, Pauline Lane, a caller reports someone is burning leaves, the responding fire captain reports the resident was advised of the pertinent regulations and extinguished the fire;
10:33 a.m.: identity fraud, Clinton Ave., a resident reports via the online reporting option that he attempted to open an account and found that an account had been opened in his name without his knowledge;
10:59 a.m.: a resident came to the station to complain that money was stolen from her bank account, the responding officer reports the caller said that somebody had called the Dalton branch of her bank and had successful arraigned for funds to be transferred from her account;
12:36 p.m.: larceny, Tow Path Lane, a resident came to the station to complain that the front registration plate was stolen from her vehicle;
3:31 p.m.; identity fraud, Mechanic Street, a resident complained that a loan he had applied for was denied due to a G&E account which was opened in his name without his knowledge, the man said that he needs to file a police report to start the process of rectifying his credit report;
4:02 p.m.: larceny, Main Street, a caller from a Main Street supermarket requests a police officer for a shoplifter who has been detained in the store, the responding officer reports he was told that the suspect had been caught stealing from the store on a previous occasion, Maureen M. McGinnis, 46, of 71 Fairview Ave., West Springfield, was arrested for shoplifting by asportation;
4:43 p.m.: attempted larceny, Westfield Atheneaum, 6 Elm St., a resident came to the station to report that an attempt was made to steal an MP3 player, the responding officer report the man said that his children had been at the library when his daughter saw a male party reach into her brother’s backpack and remove anMP3 player, the suspect abandoned the MP3 player apparently because he realized his theft had been witnessed, security video will be reviewed;
5:12 p.m.: found property, Broad Street, a resident came to the station to surrender an iPod found on the sidewalk, the device was stored for safe keeping;
6:38 p.m.: disturbance, Frederick Street, a caller reports a disturbance, see story in the Wednesday edition of The Westfield News;
7:33 p.m.: breaking and entering, Klondike Ave., a caller reports a larceny from his home, the responding officer reports the caller said that he returned home to find his door had been pried open, the man said that three winning lottery tickets valued at $70 and a small amount of jewelry were stolen;
7:44 p.m.: suspicious vehicle, Tin Bridge, Ponders Hollow Road, a patrol officer reports he encountered a van parked at the fire department training area, the officer reports he spoke with two persons who appeared to have been engaged in some sort of physical activity in the rear of the van but said they had just been talking, the couple was advised that use of the area is discouraged after dark;
11:10 p.m.: disturbance, Elm Street, a caller from an Elm Street gas station reports a couple involved in an argument walked away from their vehicle at the pumps, the responding officer reports that each party appeared to be intoxicated, the officer reports that the male party was deemed to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was taken into protective custody, a pat frisk revealed him to be in possession of ‘Molly’ (a recreational drug marketed as a pure preparation of MDMA, the primary active ingredient of Ecstasy), the female party was found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, during the booking process the woman was also found to be in possession of the drug, Jacob G. Laplante, 21, of 794 Suffield St., Agawam, and Alexis Joan Michaelian, 18, of 95 Silver Lake Dr., Agawam, were each arrested for possession of a Class B drug and Michaelian was also arrested on the warrant, the shift supervisor reports that Michaelian was subsequently transported to Noble Hospital for treatment needed due to drugs she had ingested;
11:45 p.m.: assist other department, a caller reports keys are locked inside a vehicle, the responding firefighters report entry was gained.
