11:19 a.m.: larceny, Main Street, a bank employee called to report that she believes a person holding a health care proxy for an elderly customer is stealing from the customer, the responding officer reports he found that a significant amount of money had been withdrawn from the customer’s account and deposited into an account controlled by the suspect, most of the money was recovered but the investigation is continuing;
1:48 p.m.: breaking and entering, Berkshire Drive, a person came to the station to complain that her recently purchased house has been entered, the responding officer reports the house is vacant and nothing was taken but there is evidence to suggest there may have been unauthorized entry;
3:23 p.m.: larceny, Reservoir Avenue, a resident came to the station to complain that one of her credit cards was hacked, the responding officer filed a report;
3:28 p.m.: officer wanted, Union Avenue, a caller reports that a male party is following and harassing him, the responding officer reports the suspect was the subject of an outstanding warrant issued by the Northampton District Court in 2017, Jay W. Sandidge, 25, of 134 Union St., Apt. 60, Westfield, was arrested on the warrant;
9:12 p.m.: fireworks complaints, within a half hour period, police investigated fireworks complaints on Old Stage, Hillside and Russell roads;
10:27 p.m.: disturbance, Old Stage Road, a caller reports a large fight at a wedding, the responding officer reports that 30-40 persons were involved in the disturbance, Jesus M. Cabrea, 39, of 101 Lowell St, #227, Springfield, and Kevin J. Santiago, 22, of 16 Alverd St., Springfield, were each arrested for disorderly conduct, a third party, Angel Santiago, 29, of 77 Dunmoreland St., Springfield, attempted to flee from police and attempted to evade custody before he was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer, that suspect was subsequently seen in a cell with gym shorts around his neck and took a fighting stance when officers entered the cell to remove the shorts, pepper spray was administered and the shorts were removed.
