10:52 a.m.: accident, Cabot Road at Russellville Road, a caller reports a roll-over crash, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports two cars were found on their roofs, the officer reports one operator said that she stopped at the ‘Stop’ sign and looked both ways before she proceeded into the intersection and was struck on the side of her car, the other operator was unable to immediately make a statement, all three occupants of the two cars were transported to Baystate Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, both cars were towed to the police impound yard;
11:50 a.m.: animal complaint, Elm Street, a caller reports a baby bird in the courtyard is unable to fly, the responding animal control officer reports the bird was taken to the animal shelter;
1:05 p.m.: found property, Franklin Street, a Connecticut resident came to the station to surrender a wallet found in the Franklin Street area, the responding officer reports he was unable to immediately contact the owner and the wallet was stored for safe keeping;
5:36 p.m.: fraud, Plantation Circle, a resident came to the station to report she had been scammed, the responding officer reports the victim said that she received a text message purportedly from The Apple Store claiming there were problems with her computer and offering to resolve her issues for a fee, the woman said that after sending a series of electronic payments she was induced to provider her bank account information and money was removed from her account, the victim said that she was swindled for about $1,700;
6:07 p.m.: larceny, Big Y, East Silver Street, a caller reports a shoplifter had been detained but fled, the responding officer reports that the suspect abandoned a shopping cart loaded with meats valued at $353 and was pursued by store employees who lost sight of the man in the Holland Avenue area, the officer reports that the man had been identified as a person well known to city officers and he was found near his home, Thad. J. Stoelb, 39, of 11 Bush St., was arrested for shoplifting by asportation, a third offense;
10:33 p.m.: animal complaint, Southwick Road, a caller reports a brown and white long haired dog came into his residence, the responding animal control officer reports the dog was transported to the Westfield Animal Shelter.
