1:56 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Court Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop for speeding, the operator was found to be unlicensed, Jose L. Torres, 48, of 44 Palmer Ave., Apt. 44, Springfield, was arrested for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for speeding in violation of special regulations;
2:42 p.m.: animal complaint, George Street, an animal control officer reports she took custody of a stray cat and transported it to the municipal animal shelter;;
5:42 p.m.: breaking and entering a motor vehicle, Barbara Street, a resident came to the station to complain that her handbag was stolen when her motor vehicle was broken into, the responding officer reports the victim said that she left her handbag on the seat when she forgot to lock the vehicle.
