Major crime and incident report

Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016

12:32 a.m.: Assault, Elm Street and Franklin Street. Police received an initial report for an assault that resulted in a male party being down on the ground, possibly unconscious. Police reported that the victim had allegedly attempted to pick a fight with another party and was intoxicated. Upon trying to have an altercation with the other party, that other party punched the victim and rendered him unconscious. Police did not press charges. Westfield Fire paramedics transported the victim to Baystate Noble Hospital with assistance from Westfield Police because the victim became combative.

11:03 a.m.: Burglary and breaking and entering, Munger Hill Road. Police received a report of a bicycle that was allegedly stolen from a garage sometime overnight. Police investigated and believed this to be part of an issue between neighbors and said that the bike should be returned soon. No arrests or charges filed.

2:53 p.m.: Well-being check, Baystate Noble Hospital parking lot, Court Street. Police received a call for two children that were in a car in one of the hospital parking lots, approximately 2 and 3 years old. Hospital staff had the children inside at the time of the report. Police investigated and found that the parent of the children had gone into the hospital briefly they said, and returned to the described situation. No arrests were made.

9:27 p.m.: Suspicious person and arrest, Cross Street Playground. Police found that there were two parties at the park after dark, which prompted an investigation. Upon investigating, it was found that one of the parties, Mark Ciloci, 20, of Westfield, had two warrants out for his arrest. Police arrested Ciloci due to those warrants.
