9:11 a.m.: Vandalism, Main Street. Police received a report that two buildings on Main Street were spray-painted overnight. Police had no suspects at the time of the report, but did note that the vandal who spray painted wrote “Blood Gang Knowledge.”

12:10 p.m.: Fraud, Forest Avenue. Police received a report of a case of fraud involving a loan application. According to police, the victim was sent a check after applying for a loan and the check was faulty. Unknown how much money was lost. No arrests made at the time of the report.

1:37 p.m.: Larceny, North Road. Police received a report that at a facility on North Road there was a reported theft of jewelry and $400 in cash from a room. Police were initially given suspects but cleared them. No additional information was available.

2:32 p.m.: Shoplifting and arrest, Big Y Supermarket, East Silver Street. Police received a report of two shoplifters in custody in loss prevention. The two, Amanda M. Cortis, 21, and Joan M. Cortis, 42, both of Westfield, are mother and daughter and were allegedly caught attempting to walk out with merchandise. They were both arrested and charged with shoplifting by asportation.

5:24 p.m.: Shoplifting and arrest, Walmart, Springfield Road. Police received a report from Walmart that they had two shoplifters in custody. Police arrived and found that Adam B. Carpenter, 21, and Alexander Carpenter, 24, both of Granville, allegedly shoplifted approximately $100 worth of merchandise and also reportedly had heroin in their possession. Both were arrested and charged with shoplifting by asportation and possession of a class A drug.
