7:46 a.m.: Accident, Holyoke Road and Springdale Road. Police received a report of a three-car motor vehicle accident involving a 2014 Hyundai Sonata, 2008 Toyota RAV4 and 2013 Chrystler 200 Touring. Police reported that the accident happened after one car attempted to turn and was hit by another of the vehicles whose path it was crossing, and then the third vehicle struck them. Operators from each vehicle were transported to area hospitals. Police did not report on severity of injuries.
10:37 a.m.: Larceny, walk-in. Police received a report that over the past couple of months, a person allegedly had jewelry and a security system stolen from her home. Police released no further information and it is currently under investigation.
2:54 p.m.: Accident, North West Road. Police received a report of an accident involving a trash truck that had destroyed four mailboxes and a garden area earlier in the day. According to police, the trash truck operator had failed to release a garbage can and bring up the boom that grabs the cans. After not doing so, the operator drove away, doing the damage as it did.
8:14 p.m.: Vandalism, Baystate Noble Hospital, Court Street. Police received a report of vandalism in the Baystate Noble Hospital parking lot. A car was reportedly written on by someone inside the hospital for treatment after they noticed that the car was allegedly “parked improperly.” The message written on the car referred to the alleged improper parking and also included vulgar language. The incident was witnessed by two people and police confronted the person in the hospital. The person was not charged and promised to pay for damages.
