7:56, fire, Henry’s Trailer Park, 868 Southampton Road, a caller reports a large bonfire, the responding firefighters report a campfire was found in a very small yard, the resident was advised to extinguish the fire and complied, the resident was also advised of the pertinent city ordinances;
8:36 p.m.: assault, Colonial Pine Acres, 50 Southampton Road, a caller reports he was assaulted by a known person, the responding officer report the caller said a known party struck his face and choked home when he discovered photos on the victim’s computer that he thought shouldn’t be there, the officer advised both parties that they could seek criminal complaints at Westfield District Court;
8:53 p.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, a caller from a Springfield Road department store reports a review of the store’s security video showed a known male party take merchandise off the shelves on three occasions and return it for a refund, the caller said that on the third occasion the merchandise was not accepted for return and the man left the store with merchandise, criminal complaints for larceny of property valued more than $250 by a single scheme and shoplifting were filed;
10:00 p.m.; disturbance, East Bartlett Street, a caller reports verbal altercation with his girlfriend, the responding officer reports the female party was obviously highly intoxicated and was placed in protective custody;
11:16 p.m.: fire, Lincoln Street, a caller reports a fire near a garage, the responding firefighters report that a fire was found too close to a structure and the resident extinguished the fire promptly when firefighters arrived;

1:32 p.m.: suspicious person, St. John’s Lutheran Church, a patrol officer reports he discovered a male party sleeping near the back door of the church, the officer reports he found that the man had previously been served a ‘No trespassing’ order for the property, Christopher J. Mulvey, 43, of 103 Foch Ave., was arrested for trespass;
6:55 a.m.: breaking and entering, Day Avenue, a resident came to the station to report that his vehicle was broken into and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that his vehicle was entered while it was parked in his driveway overnight and the stereo faceplate and assorted CDs were stolen;
8:20 a.m.: found property, Cleveland Avenue, a caller reports finding what he believes to be illicit drugs on his front porch, the responding officer reports the caller showed him an envelope near his neighbor’s front door which was found to contain marijuana and three pills, the envelope was seized and the detective bureau was notified;
9:18 a.m.: found property, East main Street, a caller reports finding a bicycle which was hidden behind a rubbish receptacle, the responding officer reports the bike was transported to the station for safe keeping;
10:12 a.m.: identity fraud, Cleveland Avenue, a downtown business owner came to the station to complain of fraudulent activity on her business checking account, the responding officer reports the complainant said that two withdrawals totaling more than $1,700 were made from the account and she was able to attach a name and phone number to the withdrawals, the case was referred to the financial crimes unit of the detective bureau;
10:23 a.m.: assault, Elm Street, a South Hadley resident came to the station to complain of an assault, the woman said that she went to speak with the father of her unborn child at his workplace and his current girlfriend arrived and assaulted her, the officer reports he observed scratches on the woman’s face, neck and breast, a responding detective reports he subsequently found the suspect engaged in a verbal argument with the male party, the case remains under investigation;
11:59 a.m.: animal complaint, Little River Road, an animal control officer reports she transported the carcass of a deceased intact male brindle colored boxer or pitbull dog to the Twiss Street landfill;
4:14 p.m.: larceny, Meadow Brook Lane, a caller reports he lawnmower was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that he left a lawnmower in his driveway for a half hour and found it gone upon his return, a neighbor reports he observed a pickup truck stop and saw the operator put the mower in his truck and leave the area;
4:36 p.m.: disturbance, Henry’s Trailer Park, 868 Southampton Road, a caller reports a woman causing a disturbance on his property won’t leave, a second caller reports his mother was assaulted by a neighbor, the responding officer reports a dispute between neighbors became heated when one resident realized that a neighbor had left a gate open allowing his dog to escape, the resident said that his neighbor then produced a folding knife and menaced him, the neighbor and his mother denied that a knife was involved, a witness who had been watching the incident from his deck supported the resident, Robert D. Pereira, 22, of 868 Southampton Road, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon;
10:27 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street, a detail officer reports a motor vehicle approached his position on Notre Dame Street and, when advised that the street was temporarily closed the operator drove around the officer and was stopped by another officer on the other side of the construction zone, that officer reports the suspect fled back the way he came and an officer followed the vehicle until it progress was blocked by a tractor trailer unit backing across the roadway and the offending operator fled into a cul-de-sac, the operator resisted efforts to take him into custody until an electronic control device was used, Jeanluc Dejean, 17, of 37 Parker Ave., was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor, driving to endanger, resisting arrest, a stop sign violation and a red light violation.
