12:10 a.m.: disturbance, Kellogg Street, a caller reports several hundred college-aged youths are making excessive noise at a party, the responding officers report they advised the tenants of the complaint and the possible consequences of similar complaints, 83 persons were seen leaving the address, a backpack containing liquor was found but the owner could not be determined, the property was transported to the station for safe keeping;
12:18 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Franklin Street, a patrol officer reports he observed a youth urinating against a Franklin Street building within view of other pedestrians, the officer reports a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
12:37 a.m.: assist other police department, Westfield State University, 577 Western Ave., WSU police request the use of a cell for a person under arrest, a cell monitor was provided;
12:48 a.m.: incapacitated person, Elm Street at Orange Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered a male party lying in the roadway, the officer reports the man was placed in protective custody;
12:59 a.m.: city ordinance violation, Church Street, community policing officers report they encountered a liquor law violation, a city ordinance violation citation was issued;
1:50 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, North Elm Street at Notre Dame Street, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop, the officer reports the operator submitted to a field sobriety test after which she elected not to drive further, the officer reports the woman had nobody to take custody of the vehicle and it was towed to the police impound yard;
2:47 a.m.: incapacitated person, East Silver Street, a caller reports a woman seen staggering in the street is now laying in the grass at an East Silver Street address, the responding officer reports the woman was provided a courtesy transport to a Connor Avenue address;
3:18 a.m.: building check, East Main Street, a patrol officer reports he encountered a male party sleeping behind a commercial building at the Westgate Plaza, the man was advised he could not sleep on private property;
6:57 a.m.: animal complaint, Shaker Road, a caller reports passing a dead deer in the road, the responding officer confirmed that the small deer was dead and reports he was able to drag it out of the roadway;
8:52 a.m.: fire, Park Square, fire headquarters personnel report a person came to the fire station to report mulch on the green is smoldering, the responding firefighters report the mulch was extinguished;
10:22 a.m.: animal complaint, Atwater Street, a caller reports a baby hawk has been found in his yard, the director of animal control operations responded and reports the bird was transported to the municipal animal shelter;
10:49 a.m.: fire, Granville Road, a caller reports her car’s engine was on fire but is no longer burning, the responding firefighters report the operator said that she heard a noise while driving and pulled over, the woman said when she opened the hood she encountered flames which burned out, the owner arranged to have the vehicle towed;
11:36 a.m.: breaking and entering, Cleveland Ave., a caller reports his wife’s vehicle was entered and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that a sweatshirt was stolen from his wife’s open Jeep and a wallet was found on the seat, the officer reports the sweatshirt was found on East Silver Street and the caller said he does not wish to pursue criminal charges, the wallet was transported to the station for safe keeping;
8:50 p.m.: animal complaint, Noble Hospital Emergency Department, Court Street, a caller from the hospital reports a dog walked into the Emergency Department, the caller brought the dog to the station, the responding animal control officer reports the female black and brown Pomeranian dog was transported to the municipal animal shelter;

8:34 a.m.: suspicious person, East Main Street, an employee at an automotive repair facility reports a person sleeping on the property, the responding officer reports he spoke with a male party who said that he had worked his way down from Maine to work at the Big E, the man was required to gather his belongings and leave, the man was advised to stay off private property;
10:19 a.m.: breaking and entering, Washington House, 16 Washington House, a resident came to the station to report his home was broken into and property was stolen, the responding officer reports the victim said that he left his apartment about noon and when he returned at 4:30 p.m. he found his door was open and VCR and a bucket of coins had been stolen, the officer reports there were no signs of forcible entry;
11:48 a.m.: violation of a protective order, Bush Street, a caller reports the defendant of a protective order violated terms of the order, the responding officer reports the caller said that the relevant protective order requires that the defendant maintain utility service at her residence but the man, who is incarcerated, terminated the phone and Internet service, a criminal complaint was filed;
12:17 p.m.: school investigation, Westfield High School, 1787 Montgomery Road, a school resource officer reports he was asked to meet with administration officials who told him that a staff member had found that a package left in his office by a student caused his office to smell like marijuana, the administrators said that the package was examined and found to contain a small amount of marijuana, a city ordinance violation was filed and the SRO reports that school administrators will apply administrative sanctions;
1:27 p.m.: assist citizen, Main Street, a caller reports he has locked himself out of his apartment where there is food cooking on the stove, the responding firefighters report entry was gained;
4:40 p.m.: larceny, Henry’s Trailer Park, 868 Southampton Road, a caller reports his pellet stove was stolen, the responding officer reports the caller said that a known person had removed the stove and sold it to a neighbor, the officer found that ownership of the stove could not be definitely established and advised the caller and his suspect that the issue would have to be resolved in civil court;
8:33 p.m.: assist citizen, Hubbard Street, a caller reports a lockout at the municipal playground, the responding firefighters report entry was made to a running vehicle.
