1:14 a.m.: assault, Exchange Street, a caller reports he was “mugged’ by known assailants, the responding officer reports the juvenile victim said that while he was in the process of buying marijuana from a person in a vehicle two male parties known to him from prior drug dealing attacked him, the victim said that his cell phone was apparently taken during the assault, one of the suspected assailants was found by State Police at his home in Russell, Jonathan C. Houston, 18, of 961 Blandford Road, Russell, was arrested for assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and unarmed robbery, see story in the Monday, Dec. 23 edition of The Westfield News;
10:11 a.m.: larceny, Crown Street, a caller reports she observed a vehicle stop at a neighbor’s home while the operator hurriedly ran to the porch and removed a UPS package which had been delivered, the responding officer reports the vehicle was found and the operator was found to be the resident to whom the package had been addressed;
9:08 p.m.: robbery, Main Street at Cross Street, a caller report he was robbed at knifepoint by two male parties he identified by name, a responding officer reports he recognized one of the parties walking with another man as he approached and he detained them, the victim said that the men had stolen marijuana while they were negotiating a sale and had attempted to stab him with a knife, Omar Enrique Maldonado, 20, of no fixed address, and a 17-year-old juvenile were each arrested for armed robbery and assault with intent to murder, see story in the Monday, Dec. 23 edition of The Westfield News.
