7:55 a.m.: suspicious activity, Cross Street at Ashley Street, a caller reports a male party is trying the door of a vacant house, the responding officer reports the caller said that the suspect made an unsuccessful attempt to remove an air conditioner from one of the windows of the house before he left and joined two other male parties, the officer reports he encountered three men on the rail trail nearby and one was found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Daniel W. Swearingen, 23, of 54 Loomis St., Westfield, was arrested on a warrant issued by Westfield District Court;
10:45 a.m.: animal complaint, Union Street, a caller reports a stray cat, the responding animal control officer reports the cat was transported to the Westfield Animal Shelter;
1:06 p.m.: animal complaint, Blandford Animal Hospital, 46 Woronoco Road, Blandford, an animal control officer reports she took custody of a cat and transported it to the Westfield Animal Shelter;
7:35 p.m.: vandalism, Park Street, a caller reports three girls threw rocks at her residence and fled when her husband attempted to confront them, the woman called again a short time later to report that the suspects were then on Hanover Street, the responding officer reports damage to the siding of the building, one juvenile suspect was identified and returned to her home;
10:55 p.m.: counterfeiting, Main Street, the owner of a liquor store reports he has video evidence of a person passing a counterfeit bill, the responding officer reports the suspect was identified, found at his home, and found to be the subject of an outstanding warrant, Miguel G. Fernandez, 74, of 10C Kasper Drive, Westfield, was arrested on a warrant issued by Westfield District Court.
