3:11 a.m.: assist other police department, Baystate Noble Hospital, Court Street, a caller from the hospital’s emergency department reports a patient has presented with a gunshot wound, the responding officer reports he learned that the wound was sustained in Southwick, police in that community were advised, the patient was transferred Baystate Medical Center; See story in the December 20, 2018 Westfield News.
6:03 p.m.: arrest, Westfield Police Department, 15 Washington St., an officer reports he was able to make contact with a person who had previously admitted vandalism to a porch and asked the man to come to the station, Nicholas J. Deliberto, 23, of 16 Vinnie Way, Shrewsbury, was arrested for vandalizing property;
7:42 p.m.: larceny, Fairway Apartments, 548 Russell Road, a caller reports a package was stolen from her doorstep, the responding officer reports the victim said that when she contacted the shipping agency she was told that the item had been delivered in hand to her but she said she did not receive it;
7:57 p.m.: accident, Main Street at Meadow Street, a caller reports a two car crash with an injury, the responding officer reports one party was injured and was transported to Baystate Noble Hospital, one vehicle was towed to the police impound yard and an officer escorted the other operator to her Little River Road home in case hidden effects of the accident surfaced;
8:41 p.m.: officer wanted, a caller reports an unattended three-year-old child wearing only a diaper and a tee shirt ran through her backyard, the responding officer reports the child has been able to leave her nearby home without her mother noticing.
