12:31 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Southampton Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop for speeding, a citation was issued;
1:22 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, East Main Street, a radar enforcement officer reports a traffic stop, the operator’s license was found to have been suspended, a criminal complaint was filed and the vehicle was towed to the police impound yard;
6:28 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Montgomery Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop for speeding, a citation was issued;
6:40 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Montgomery Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop for speeding, a citation was issued;
6:52 a.m.: public service, a caller reports his basement is flooding due to a clog in the city’s pipes or storm drains, a fire department pumper truck was dispatched and the water/sewer department was notified;
6:55 a.m.: motor vehicle violation, Montgomery Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop for speeding, a citation was issued;
8:02 a.m.: animal complaint, Lockhouse Road, a caller reports she has taken custody of a stray German shepherd dog, the responding animal control officer reports she was able to return the dog to its home;
9:01 a.m.: breaking and entering, Susan Drive, a Comcast representative reports an attempt to break into a gated tower area, the responding officer reports a lock on the gate was damaged and is no longer usable;
9:23 a.m.: accident, Russell Road, multiple callers report a two-car accident with airbag deployment, the responding officer reports a motorist passed two cars which had stopped for a vehicle turning left and struck the turning vehicle, both operators were transported to Baystate Noble Hospital;
11:14 a.m.: suspicious activity, Elm Street, a caller reports youths are again on the roof of his building, the respond officer reports he spoke with three youths who said they were on the roof to photograph existing graffiti, the youth were advised to stay off the roof;
3:10 p.m.: animal complaint, Western Avenue, an animal control officer reports she responded to a report of a stray Chihuahua dog, the ACO reports she took custody of the dog but was unable to contact its owner, the dog was transported to the Westfield animal shelter;
3:47 p.m.: vandalism, Union Street, a resident came to the station to complain of vandalism to her vehicle, the responding officer reports the victim said that she found a scratch along the side of her SUV which was was not there when she left it about two hours earlier;
5:28 p.m.: vandalism, Southampton Road, an office reports he investigated a complaint of vandalism to a vehicle, the officer reports the complainant said that she discovered a dent in her parked car at her workplace, the woman said that although she has permission to park where she does a known person has objected and has been seen near the vehicle;
7:02 p.m.: animal complaint, Westfield State University, 577 Western Ave., WSU police report that a student has found a cat which was struck by a vehicle, the responding animal control officer reports the cat does not appear to be seriously injured and will be monitored at the Westfield animal shelter;
7:27 p.m.: motor vehicle violation, Springfield Road, a patrol officer reports a traffic stop for speeding, a citation was issued.
