4:47 a.m.: found property Shaker Road, a patrol officer reports a bicycle found on the side of the road was transported to the station for safe keeping;
9:27 a.m.: animal complaint, Sunnyside Road, a caller reports he has a homing pigeon in custody, an animal control officer retrieved the bird;
10:30 a.m.: larceny, Springfield Road, an employee of a Springfield Road department store reports he pursued a shoplifter who crossed the street to the railroad tracks, a dispatcher advised CSX Railroad to suspend train traffic, a K-9 unit was dispatched to search for the suspect who eluded police;
11:36 a.m.: accident, East Main Street at Main Line Drive, multiple callers report a two-car crash with possible injuries, dual response dispatched, the responding officer reports two ambulances were needed, two persons were transported to Baystate Medical Center, both vehicles were towed and the G&E was notified that multiple traffic standards were struck;
2:37 p.m.: animal complaint, Edgewood Apartments, 134 Union St. an animal control officer reports she took custody of a stray blue-nosed pit bull dog;
3:30 p.m.: larceny, East Main Street, a resident came to the station to complain that a registration plate was stolen from her car while it was parked at an East Main Street restaurant;
4:28 p.m.: vandalism, Prospect Heights, 40 Prospect St., a caller reports her vinyl siding has been damaged, apparently by BB impacts, the responding officer reports damage to the siding of three apartments by BB strikes;
5:52 p.m.: vandalism, Elm Street, a resident came to the station to report a protective order violation and property damage, the responding officer reports an incident report was filed;
5:58 p.m.: assist other police department, Summer Street, Springfield police report there is probable cause to arrest a resident and ask that officers seek the man at his home of record, the suspect was found, Michael D. Lowe, 32, of 8 Summer St., Westfield, was arrested on a charge of assault and battery in a domestic relationship as a courtesy to Springfield police.
