3:59 p.m.: well being check, Pearl Street, a caller report she observed a woman push a child into a vehicle, the responding officer reports he spoke with a male party in the vehicle who confirmed that his wife had placed her daughter in the vehicle, the officer found no indication that the child had been mistreated but a routine check revealed that the man was the subject of an outstanding warrant, Christian Samuel Velez Sanchez, 24, of 126 Union St., Westfield, was arrested on the warrant issued by Westfield District Court;
5:05 p.m.: larceny, Russell Road, a caller from a convenience store reports a lottery book is missing and may have been stolen, the responding officer reports an investigation was initiated;
7:44 p.m.: animal complaint, Dana Street at Russell Road, residents came to the station to report finding an injured hawk on the sidewalk, the responding officer reports the hawk was caged to await pickup by an animal control officer.
