6:02 a.m.: motor vehicle theft, Cabot Road, an employee of a lumber company reports a company truck has been stolen, the responding officer reports he was told that the keys had been in the ignition of a company truck which was stolen from the yard overnight;
6:17 a.m.: animal complaint, Birge Avenue, callers from both sides of a duplex called to report that a terrier dog has established itself outside their house, refuses to leave and is aggressive toward anyone who approaches, the responding officer requests that an animal control officer also respond as he cannot get close to the aggressive dog, the responding ACO took custody of the dog and transported it to the municipal animal shelter;
10:05 a.m.: assist other agency, Summer Street, a Department of Children and Families representative requests an officer to assist at home where the person caring for a child appears to be in violation of a protective order, the responding officer reports the DCF worker took custody of the child;
3:11 p.m.: fraud, Westfield bank, 300 Southampton Road, a caller reports a person in the bank is attempting to cash a fraudulent check, the responding officer reports the suspect had fled but was identified, a criminal complaint was filed;
8:31 p.m.: larceny, Franklin Street, a customer at a Franklin Street discount store reports two described female parties are shoplifting, the responding officer reports one of the women had previously been served with a ‘No trespassing’ order, Tiffany E. Reno, 27, of 5 Sackett St., was arrested for trespass.
