Southwick: College Highway looks real good now. It’s done. Most of the buildings along 10 and 202 blend in with Southwick’s scenic views of being the country/residential community except for the one big white garage in the center of town along the main highway which is an eyesore. Maybe the selectmen could find out who the owner is and ask them to spruce it up.

Good morning. This is the person that called about the Amish and their furnace. Well, I made a big mistake. It’s not a furnace. It is an electric fireplace. That’s what happens when you get old. You confuse a fireplace with a furnace. But I’m still hoping somebody can let me know about the Amish. I had one for eight years and it was fantastic and I’m looking for another one. So, it’s an electric fireplace. Thanks.

As a disabled American Vietnam veteran, I wish to give a heartfelt thanks to the men of the Westfield Fire Department who showed up at my home to put out a chimney fire on Noble Avenue. Never have I seen such professionalism and such kind treatment even though I’m an old vet. Thank you very much guys. You did one helluva job.

Southwick residents: I’m asking you to shop locally in your town. We have some very fine doctors. We have some very fine stores, repair garages, filling stations, a lumber company, and the list goes on. Help OUR economy. This year coming, let’s shop in Southwick. Thank you.

One paragraph and 14 exclamation points for “exclamation point” guy? Did I call it or what? You only use an exclamation point to raise an emphatic point and ending. If you use it all the time, it is senseless and the paragraph lacks continuity and purpose. People tire of the same old pro-Biomass diatribe and don’t even read it. Think about that if you read your articles after you write them.

I live at 15 Washington Street and most of them are one bedroom apartments and there’s one on the first floor that has two adults staying in it and two children staying in it.  I was just wondering what the laws are – if anybody could tell me what the laws are about that when there is supposed to be only one person living there.  How many people can be living in a one-bedroom apartment? Dan Kelly, the director of the Westfield Housing Authority, reports that while there may be mitigating factors (such as temporary visitors) relative to the particular apartment referenced by the caller, in general there should not be four persons living in a one bedroom apartment at the Washington House. The housing authority can be reached at 568-9283 for information about a specific complaint.

I would like to comment on the person who made the rude comments about the transportation manager. If you new this person, personally you would know none of this is true. This person has a very tough job.  Walk a day in her shoes and see if you could do a better job. She has to deal with many different people. This person has worked for the public schools for many years, so obviously she is doing something right. So instead of trash talking people, think about your own attitude.
