Real Estate taxes go up 3% to 4% every year since I have lived here (check your last years bill against your previous years bill). If the folks in city government cannot get their increase from city council, they simply raise the home valuations. Not that we think anyone really cares, but it is a fact that seniors received no cost of living increase on social security this year, meaning that we all took a pay cut thanks to our school departments never ending greed. And please, spare us the “pink slip” movie this year, we all know that most everyone gets hired back in the fall. Plus all these yearly increases and we still have crappy roads, is Dave Flaherty the only city councilor willing to stand up for the taxpayers in Westfield? Show some backbone, we elected you councilors to look out for us, not all of your relatives in the city and school departments.
