Please join us in supporting the Westfield High School Drama club as they present the musical Chicago Tuesday-Thursday  at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. It is $5 for children and senior citizens and $10 for adults.

Just a heads up for the DPW, the new trees on the Town Green still have their Christmas lights strung. I don’t know if they are intending to leave them up year ’round but the trees are budding and ready to leaf up. If they are intending to remove them, time is short. Thank you.

Hi! Good Morning! I just wanted to pass the number along to anybody who had any old gas grills and stuff that they no longer use or are broken. Instead of having them brought to the dump in the back of a car or whatever there is a nice girl who is collecting stuff for her fifth grade trip at Franklin Ave. and any kind of metal that you have. She’d be more than happy to come and get it with her mom and the phone number is 977-1836. Thank you.

You read in the newspaper, you listen to the news, about the Boston Marathon bombing. They have the suspect they caught and you got the ACLU talking about his Miranda rights. Well, what about the people’s rights that got killed and injured and all that? Let’s worry about their rights, not this bombing suspect. The guy that did the bombing should be just like the old days – take him out back and hang him.

Good morning! I’m calling today concerning outsourcing of paying all our bills. Every time I get a bill from the gas, electric, light, we send a check to Chelsea, Mass. The same thing with the taxes – Chelsea, Mass. Water Department – Chelsea, Mass. Now, we’re outsourcing, just like we’re outsourcing a lot of jobs to Mexico, to Taiwan… why is this happening? We have a four-story city hall that has accommodations and a lot of people working in the building and I think the money should be received in the city of Westfield. And if there are jobs to be had, give them some additional jobs here in the city of Westfield. I’d like to know how much we pay this company in Chelsea, whoever this mystery company is. I bet you it’s a lot of money. And, by the way, if you would look at the G&E, they have two facilities, one downtown and one in another area. You would think they’d have the opportunity to have people open up the envelopes, and make the deposits to a bank here in Westfield. Can you look into this and how much does it really cost us, not per week, for a whole year to get those checks opened and delivered back to Westfield? Can you get that information for me, please? Have a pleasant day.
