I wonder if anyone can tell me how long it will take the DPW to fix the holes at the intersection of N Elm and Notre Dame? These holes can and may cause a serious accident to somebody and maybe somebody’s kid. Are you guys going to take that responsibility if this happens? … Also, can somebody answer why nobody has done anything about Franklin St? This road has been bad for years. … And last but not least, since when does the Westfield police do a radar check while parked inside St Mary’s Cemetery? Isn’t this private property? Or did the people who live there give them permission to park there? Comment from the Westfield DPW: The DPW has addressed the potholes at the North Elm and Notre Dame intersection as well as Franklin Street several times already this year. However, cold weather temperatures present at the time the repairs were made, were not ideal conditions for a lasting fix and these areas will be revisited. The entire North Elm and Notre Dame intersection is slated for reconstruction which should begin later this year, and portions of Franklin Street are to be included as part of the Gas Light District improvement project.
