Pulseline

PulseLine, August 3, 2012

I’m calling to say how proud I am to be a citizen of Westfield. The outpouring of support that was showed for that officer’s family was truly inspiring. All the negativity that has been put in the Pulse Line means nothing and to see what has transpired these past few days truly makes me proud to be a part of this community. God bless to the Torres family.

Hi. I’m calling about the nice paved road we have going from Noble Street onto Main Street. Do you think we could get some white lines painted on it so when I’m traveling at night I can be sure that I’m on the right side of the road? Otherwise, it’s a very, very, nice road but it would be nice to see the lines painted on the road. Thank you.

I want this in the paper, please, and it goes like this… Hey, wait a minute yourself. Your timing was without a doubt the most inconsiderate, heartless deed of the day, especially when the day was for Officer Torres and his family. God bless them. Hurray for Officer Torres to work another job instead of looking for handouts, not greed, pure and simple as you stated. You are a sick person without a conscience. Thank you, very much.

Can anyone tell me why trash was not collected on Tuesday? All our barrels are out here on the street and no one has picked them up. Thank you.  Westfield municipal offices and  other public services (except for police, fire and dispatch) closed at 10 a.m. Tuesday to allow employees to attend the funeral of Westfield Police Officer Jose Torres.

Hello. I’m calling the Pulse Line in regards to the table that was set up outside the post office here in Westfield about Glass-Steagall wanting to impeach President Obama. The post office staff did go out there to ask them to move, they did not. They were on the tree line and they would not move even though there was a traffic problem going on. City Hall said the police should have asked them to move. I personally don’t think the president should be impeached over this issue and personally believe that the poster of President Obama with a Hitler mustache they were showing was offensive because it was way, way out of line. Those are my thoughts. I did not appreciate those tables being there for that matter. Bye-bye.

I’d like to thank everyone who came out to support my family and pay their last respects to my brother on behalf of my mother, sister, brothers, nephews and nieces. Thank you.

This one’s for the mayor… What’s up with Drugstore Bridge on the north side? It was supposed to have been started in April and here it is August. Nothing but a joke.

This is for the person who called in about off-duty cops and the death of Officer Torres. You’re heartless. What’s wrong with you? That’s mean. Awful.
