I would like to know why our taxes in Westfield went up. Springfield taxes went down, West Springfield taxes went down, but ours went up.  And as soon as they go up, the City Council wants a raise and a raise for the mayor. My social security only went up 1.7 percent. The politicians knew what they were getting when they took the job. When things are better in this city, I would have no problem with giving them all a raise, but not now. When I was working and asked my office manager for a raise, he told me I should be looking for ways to cut expenses, not adding to them.

I’m concerned about all this money that was spent on the water cannons, and the Harry Potter clock. And we don’t need a glassed-in gazebo. Is the gazebo going to have heat and air conditioning? If so that will be more expense we don’t need. No other town around here has a glassed-in gazebo. Why do we need that?
