To the person who does not know the meaning of satire, the National Guard comment was meant as satire.  However, I feel it is you who is being ridiculous, as the National Guard IS today’s version of the citizen/soldier.   If you think that M-16’s, AR-15’s Bushmasters etc. will protect you if the government REALLY wants to get you, you are sadly mistaken.  All it would take is a drone attack or two to get rid of any “survivalist militia” with their armed camps and military assault weapons.  As to the Native American comment, think about it, you will be just as badly outgunned (outweaponed) as they were, and you will suffer the same, if not a worse, fate.  By the way, in our form of democracy, the government IS WE THE PEOPLE.  Unfortunately, due to the many conspiracy mongers on right wing talk radio and faux news, we have too many people that think the way you seem to.  I do agree with one thing, though.  The biggest problem we have today is that the Native Americans had a really poor immigration policy.

I’m currently reading an article which states that only a handful of residents attended an informational meeting at City Hall Wednesday night to address a proposed roadway reconstruction project in the area of the former Ashley Street School. Well, you might have had attendance if we were aware of it and perhaps if we had a councilor we might know what’s going on here. And also it says here prior to the meeting a questionnaire relevant to neighborhood issues was mailed to residents to get their input. Don’t know who they mailed mine to. Thanks.  Close to 300 questionnaires were mailed to all the homes abutting the area in question and 50 were returned completed. The informational meeting was not tied to any committee, and was on the city’s web site in their meeting calendar. Proper notification was given to homeowners that may be directly affected and ample notice was given to other interested residents.
