Hello, did anybody watch the US women versus the Canadians on Thursday? Why was the US team such bad sports? They couldn’t congratulate the Canadians about winning. All they did was cry. What a bunch of bad sportsmen.

Regarding the photo of the obstructed walkways being an on-going challenge. Notice, all corridors have mounds of snow that the plows put there. Just how is the homeowner expected to move it? So Mr. Mayor, with all your new sidewalks, don’t expect the taxpayer to move what the plows put there. It’s physically impossible for us to do it.

I’m reading the Pulse Line, or at least not the Pulse Line, excuse me, I’m reading the court log, and a guy was charged with cruelty to animals, but then it was dismissed. I’m sure that’s not the right amendment. So a guy is married to an animal? That just don’t make sense. I’m sure the animal didn’t get to speak.

Hi, I want to thank the newspaper for doing an investigation on the General Shepard flag and the downtown green flag. And now that I drove by General Shepard, they have replaced their flag, and it looks really nice to see Old Glory—a fresh one—flying high. Thank you.

Yes, will the men’s hockey team, US men’s hockey team, will they play as bad sports as the US women’s team did? Will they cry and not congratulate the other team for winning?

Hi, I know you know who I am from your caller ID, but you can edit this, but please don’t tell my age or the street I live on. I’m a senior citizen, age 86. Well, here it goes. The first storm, I shoveled my driveway, the mailbox and paper tube. The last storm we had, I did the same. Came home Friday from the senior center in the afternoon and couldn’t get into my driveway right away because of the snow on my apron of my driveway where they had plowed. And they filled it in: the mailbox and the tube. I couldn’t shovel it because it was so heavy; full of water. The DPW was supposedly notified from the mayor’s office and now I have a lake with the snow making it real heavy. I keep my driveway, mailbox and paper tubes clean—you can ask my neighbors, the mailman, the paper delivery person—and they’ll tell you. They call the police if we throw snow in the road, but it’s okay if they fill in our driveway. I just wanted to get this off my chest. I don’t know what I’ll do; hopefully with the warm weather, it’ll eventually melt. Thank you; have a good day.

Yes, I was reading in Saturday night’s paper about the immigration data, about all the landlords that are getting kickbacks from the churches who are allowing them to put these Nepalese people in their rental units. That’s why we have no affordable housing for people that really need it.

When oh when oh when are they going to start to fix the roads? You can’t even go anywhere to avoid them; you can’t drive around because every road is full of stinking holes. Everyone must be fed up to their eyes with this. You have cars coming in your lane because of the holes. There’s going to be head-on collisions. And also, I know that somewhere in the world, well, the United States, they do have hot plants working, hot asphalt plants working this time of year. So, somewhere they have one, why can’t they get one here if they don’t have ’em, because they’re going to wait til someone gets killed because their car goes out of control ’cause all of these potholes, or millions of people decide to sue because of what these roads did to their car.

It’s Monday morning, 7:30, trying to get to work. Montgomery Road is backed up all the way past JJ’s because of the potholes on Notre Dame. I don’t know why I’m bringing this up because we know the mayor, and he don’t care about the north end. I wish we had that Hoose guy, there, whatever—that ward 3 or 2 there, whatever, they work for their wards. Our councilor sucks. Our bridge ain’t built, something’s going on, that guy hasn’t accomplished nothing. And if he has, please put it in the paper, and tell me what you have done lately. You don’t even write articles in the paper, you lazy … Thanks, bye. Just had to vent.

Yes, I’d like to comment about the nursing homes article in the paper the other day. I think is very important that the town of Westfield knows about the problems with these nursing homes, just as much as the proper people that are in charge, too. Especially when there’s problems. And when you got your loved one in a nursing home, and you Hispanic people out there, you put your loved ones in a nursing home, you know. Keep tabs on them often, check up on ’em often. Supervise as much as possible. It’s very important when it comes to your loved ones that they get the best care, especially when you get someone who doesn’t do their job. You know, some nursing homes have their problems, not dealing with things rightfully. This is in regards to the local Westfield nursing homes. You know, so. I hope that all you family members will be ready to, if you have family members already in nursing homes, go out, go often, check up on them, make sure that they are being taken care of right. If they’re not, well, if they’re going to do it, well, still, keep an eye on your loved ones, check up on them. It’s very important that your loved ones get the best care. They’re your family members and very important that they know you love them and you’re there for them and they’re not alone in that facility. You know. Defenseless. Try to, you know, make sure their needs are met. So. I understand that you comment, that it’s very important that Westfield News know about these problems. You know. That it’s everybody’s business out there. And uh, yeah, do it with the proper people to. So any town’s that had nursing homes. Yeah. Bye.

Yeah, our mayor’s looking pretty guilty after stealing them signs, which we all knew he was. That’s the kind of girl that he is. When we going to get our 40 grand back out of him now? I hope he resigns. I think he cheated to get back in anyway, because everybody I talked to, not one person admitted to voting for him and looking at the PulseLine, there ain’t nobody sticking up for him either. So, I hope you bail out before you get guilty on your other charges down there on Cross St. You ain’t doing nothing for us up here on the north end. The bridge. It’s been beautiful these last couple days. Do you care? Nope. Potholes? Nope. Be gone, Mayor, be gone. Hi, I called five minutes ago. I like to add to that. With the mayor. I don’t understand why he wouldn’t talk after the hearing. If I were innocent, I’d explain my innocence. That’s definitely a sign of guilt when you don’t want to talk. Just one man’s opinion.

Thank you to the Westfield Police Department, especially officers Kevin Bard and Mark Carbonneau for your presence at Fort Meadow school the past few weeks. Drop-off and pick-up on the narrow street is a nightmare. The lack of parking, coupled with snow and parents who continue to park illegally, put our young children in danger. Since you have been parking by the school and giving warnings and tickets, the situation has improved and those of us who follow the rules – and use common sense – appreciate your efforts. I hope the school department can include a crossing guard there once again in its upcoming budget. Well done WPD
