Yes, I’m glad you are considering putting our pulse in the paper. As a citizen of Westfield, I have a few regrets on our council, councilmen, mayors, whatever they may be. The increase in taxes. Our taxes are terrible. Our water bill has gone up. What are we to do in Westfield to leave to our grandchildren? We’d like to leave them something because there is no future for them here in Westfield and I don’t think that downtown Westfield will ever make it because our so power people that are in power think more about filling their pockets – I hope they enjoyed that raise – because as we citizens of Westfield have been really equaled with our taxes to the amount that any one nation can pay. It’s terrible as senior citizens go on to try to struggle to keep their home. Their home is their value. Their home they’ve been living in for so many years. We’d like to leave it with dignity and respect to give our grandchildren as I said before. And another thing. It’s amazing. It’s just amazing how Westfield High School – I know Mr. Broderick is getting out – but I sure hope they get another principal in there, superintendent, whoever it may be, because the system – it’s ridiculous. It’s to laugh at. And so be it. It’s not the sports that make it. It’s really the academics of the children, the students that get up at five o’clock in the morning to study, to make their grades and to achieve to their best ability. And I hope their future is greater than ours. As I said before, I’m a senior citizen and boy, I do respect and I really hope our council and our mayor, whoever it may be in power is, even in Boston, consider Westfield a little bit. You know, we’ve been hit very hard. As I said before, we have no sewers, we have no sidewalks, and here we go with our taxes. And the water bill, too. Oh yes, we have septic tanks. Yeah, that’s another issue there. It’s very expensive to run a house today. And, c’mon you guys in power, do a little more, I know you have the brain, but don’t think of yourselves, think of others. And God bless you all for the new year. And, Mr. Berry: your paper is great. I enjoy it. You do have better aspects and you do cover a lot of territory. I grant you that, yes. Your paper is good. Thank you, A Senior Citizen in Westfield

Hi!  There was a nice picture in the paper about U30 Cat and Small Dog Wellness Center opening up.  There’s no address in here.  It would be a good idea if you put the address of a business if it’s opening up.  It would give them customers.  And another thing: who is responsible for shoveling the sidewalks on the bridges? I noticed they aren’t being done.  Thank you. The new veterinarian is Dr. Faircloth’s new practice located at 69 Southwick Rd. in Westfield. They had a series of ads in the paper promoting their grand opening. Their web site is: www.u30catandsmalldog.com. Depending on the bridge, it could be the city of Westfield is responsible for clearing the snow. We recommend you contact them to inform them of needed snow removal at 572-6226.
