How long to we have to wait for the Drugstore Hill Bridge to be opened? In the State of Vermont, they have a new bridge built and opened in a year. They were supposed to start this job in April and here it is mid-July and nothing has been done. I think the people on the north side have put up with enough; it’s time we get some action here. I mean, we pay taxes too, you know. Have a good day.  According to Carl Hartdegen’s story on June 30 in The Westfield News (https://thewestfieldnews.com/june-30-bridge-finally-formally-finished)  Governor Patrick was asked about that project and deferred to his transportation secretary, Rich Davey, who said “We’re looking forward to starting that.  We’ve already awarded the contract and we’ll have work out there probably within the month” of July.

Southwick residents and surrounding towns: If you didn’t go to the Grill ‘n Daze BBQ event, sponsored by the Southwick Rotary Club, this past Sunday at the Southwick Rec. Center, you missed a great time. Great food, great cold drinks, and a great baseball game by the Westfield Wheelmen. I’m looking forward to next year and hope to see you there – It’s free!  Kevin Romani’s story from Monday’s Westfield News can be found here: (https://thewestfieldnews.com/grill-n-daze-bbq-a-hit)
