Pulseline

Yes, I was reading the PulseLine on this Tuesday, the 18th, and I see where somebody was wondering why that Corey and the Knightsmen always play at the fireworks up on Western Avenue’s Stanley Park. They said why don’t they get somebody else? Well, I tell you, Corey and the Knightsmen do an excellent job. They should be very thankful they have these people. So, stop your bellyaching and go up and listen to the good music that Corey and his people play. Thank you.

Yes, I got wind of the new changes that were coming to Western Avenue. Personally, I think it’s a dumb idea. It’s the same as it was when they worked on the green downtown. It looks like hell, in my estimation. You’re going to make Broadway Street one-way, and Kensington Avenue the other one-way, and you’re going to narrow Western Avenue. I hope they reject it and I hope it doesn’t go through, because right now, Western Avenue looks good up there. You got the nice trees, you got sidewalks and up. The road is wide enough to handle the traffic. If they make that road narrower, what’s going to happen if you have some heavy equipment try to get through? You know, fire trucks and all that. These people come in from out of town and make these arrangements and I don’t particularly care for it. And I know the people on Western Avenue are upset. And they should be. I mean, after all, they pay their taxes. They do have a say in this. And it was the same thing out on Ashley Street and Cross Street with the new school they want to put up. Right now there’s just a big hole in the ground. Seems like these city engineers, whatever you want to call them… I don’t quite understand their way of thinking. I would definitely, if I lived up there in Western Avenue area, I would definitely reject it. Thank you.
