Please be advised that Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings effective immediately, until sunset on the day of interment, in honor of Massachusetts State Trooper Thomas L. Clardy of Hudson. Once formal arrangements have been made an update will be sent out in regards to the date of interment. This gubernatorial order applies to: 1. The main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, e.g. town and city halls. 2. Other state-owned or state-controlled buildings. 3. All state military installations.

My name is Susan and it is Tuesday evening, March 15th. I just attended the second forum, concerning the opiate crisis in our city held at Westfield Technical Academy. Having lost a relative to this disease, I felt I needed to find out more about this epidemic. A parent who lost a child not long ago, spoke about this, as did a mother who`s child is thankfully in recovery, also spoke. Heartbreaking for both!! and they never new about their own childs addiction. hard to believe, but very true. Several young adults, from another city, came to speak about how their addiction started at a very young age, some as early as their grammar school days. This is unbelievable!!
Such sad stories, but such brave individuals to share their terrifying stories to everyone who attended. However, not enough parents, teenagers, children, grandparents or caregivers attended this forum. Please, please, if you are a parent of children of any age, join the next community forum to be held at Westfield High School on March 30th, at 6:30 pm. Our children are dying because of this disease and we all need to be informed. Thank you!

Regarding the new RMD – Registered Marijuana Dispensary / grow facility to be located on Sgt. TM Dion Way., 100 cars a day sounds like a low estimate. Why not poll the existing dispensary in Northampton to see what they are experiencing? According to John O’Brien on Rock 102, the Northampton location is extremely busy. We may need another traffic light on Rte. 10 and 202 to handle the number of patients using the facility.
