I see today’s Westfield News where Councilman Winters is at the council chambers. It looks like he’s in the dentist’s seat. Anywhere but there. My God.
Good morning! I’ve been reading your newspaper for the last few months, longer than that, of course, and I can’t believe what I’ve been reading. Oh, about a month ago, the health department needs $700,000 for new barrels, city council bonds for $10 million dollars, the other day, the school department – a possible shortage of a million dollars. Now the water department tells us there is something happening – they have major problems in the water field. Two million dollars. The second area for the water department – 2.8 million dollars. The state keeps on saying we need new additional taxes, we are short on funds and I keep on hearing we will get some free money. Yes, there’s grants out there. I cannot believe that you’re going to get the funding that’s necessary for what the city of Westfield say they’re short of. Where will you get the funds? Add up what I just told you. It’s millions and millions of dollars. Heaven help us paying our tax bills.
