I would love to know if Westfield has a long range plan to keep the roads paved. Granville Road near the filter beds has been a safety issue for several years. I understand that Westfield is trying to keep up on many roads in the center but having to drive on the wrong side of the road so you don’t damage your car is not right. Maybe Westfield could pay Granville to pave it for them. Northwest Road is also a mess and needs to be resurfaced as well. I believe every road in the city needs to be on a list and be resurfaced every so often instead of waiting until they are in such bad shape.

Wait. What? An article on your web site says that the new speaker of the state house won’t cut local aid to fix the state budget shortfall? The state has had record revenues and has continued to cut local aid causing higher local taxes. We need to have local aid INCREASED and big government in Boston trimmed. What is our mayor, state rep and state senator doing about this? They should be gathering support from every state legislator and camping out in Boston nonstop to get relief. C’mon citizens…start screaming!!!

While it was great to see the write up for Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional High School’s upcoming production of “Guys and Dolls”, I was very disappointed to see only two tiny photos. Fred Gore always takes such fantastic photos. This also happened last spring when they did their production of “Grease”. I have seen full page photo layouts from Westfield High and St. Mary’s productions. It would seem that what is good for one school would also good for all others. This paper says “Serving Westfield, Southwick, and the surrounding Hilltowns”.

My heart goes out to the family and coworkers of the young man killed at the salt plant on Union St.

I’m a Southwick resident and I want to know why the hell Selectman Cesan refuses to attend meetings and do her job. We elected her to represent us but if she refuses to do that job we need to boot her out and find a replacement. Hope E. Tremblay’s Nov. 7 story on this can be found here: https://thewestfieldnews.com/?p=94440
