Just wondering why the Westfield water dept. has 2 foremen for roughly 7-9 guys ? They will say that they maintain both water & the water treatment guys (& there is only like 4 of them but they really don’t supervise them)..I’ve worked in the private sector my entire life being a foreman /supervisor & I’ve never seen or heard of the need for 2 foreman for 7/9 guys..and the kicker is they ride around all day together. How much work is really getting done…? maybe a waste or taxpayer money??just wondering……
To the concerned people of Westfield wondering where the squirrels and birds have gone. We have decided to move out of the town because of all the things going on. Have you read the Pulseline lately? The College President is stealing donated money, your teachers are getting ripped off in their pay (and some people think it’s ok?), there’s a stoppage on the construction of a needed Elementary School, the lights on the town green are so bright we can’t sleep at night, the roads are in bad shape (the squirrels can barely cross the potholes), Putz won’t list the football winner that week (why do we play), and just recently your Animal Control Officer authorized the killing of a young moose cutting through the city? What was that about? We just don’t think it’s safe for us right now. The talk of the hawks eating all of us is false. Sure, they get the slow ones but we expect that. Please fix up your city, attitude and policies and we may be back next year. Sincerely, Tweety-Bird and Rocky the Squirrel: Representatives of the General Squirrel & Bird Union #402
Hi Pulse Line- More scandals at Westfield State! The food service people working at WSU for low wages just got a kick in the ass! They were told as of January 1 that they will lose all their vacation, sick days and health insurance! This is cost saving measure for the company that runs the cafeteria! With all the money that has been stolen from the students by the Dobell administration this is just plain wrong! Why can’t WSU get another food service that treats their employees the way they want to be treated? I have been told that the food service is a multimillion dollar company! Why are they are stealing change from college kids and seniors that work for them?
I commented on this item once before but it is back AGAIN. How many days of a week do I need to see the Tekoa Country Club Tuesday golf league results of September 24, 2013? Every day is unnecessary. Thank you.
Hi – Maybe the Westfield News would do a report on finding out all about what did happen with the moose. A lot of people are curious. And I also wrote in the other day thanking Mr. Putz for running his thing and asked a question and he didn’t answer it. It got wrote in there but I got no answers. Thank you again. Hi! This is in regards to that moose that I feel was shot for no reason at all. Seeing that the Westfield News has a lot more power than I do, I wonder if they could look into this matter and find out what the actual rules and regulations are for handling a wild animal like this. And who gave the final order to shoot the poor thing and where the carcass ended up? And one other thing I’d like to add, in the paper it said, somebody was saying that children were coming home on school buses. Well, all these school buses are equipped with two-way radios. They could have been radioed to the school buses and the children brought to a safe place. Thank you. I hope the PulseLine can look into this so it doesn’t happen again. Think about it. Please see Carl Hartdegen’s story from yesterday’s edition of The Westfield News.
If there is a difficult way to do something you can bet Westfield will find out how to do it. I am a retired employee of the city and just received a letter like every other retiree did that we can no longer have our paychecks sent to us, our monthly benefit from retirement. It’s going to have to go into a direct deposit account. But the little twist that Westfield put on it is that you must go into the bank where you have an account and have a bank employee verify all of the information you’re submitting like bank routing number, name of the bank, account number, all of that. Now I ask you, does it make sense for the city of Westfield to put a stupid restriction like that on, when, to set up an account with social security, all we have to do is to call social security, give them the information over the phone, and our direct deposit was set up automatically? As I said, if there’s a stupid way to do something, Westfield will find it. Thank you.
