Since 1962, Citizen Scholarship Fund of Westfield, Inc. (CSF) has given out $2,584,915 in scholarship awards to 5,444 Westfield students.
On Saturday, the second CSF paper shredding event was held at South Middle School on West Silver Street. The event turned out to be very successful and well-supported by members of the Westfield community. The funds raised this year were greater than the previous year and will be used to award additional scholarships in May of 2014.  CSF will award scholarships in excess of $100,000 this year at the annual May 22 presentation to students from Westfield. CSF is fully  staffed by volunteers and is a locally-funded organization, which last year celebrated its 50th Anniversary. Thanks to, and through the generosity of, Eric Wartel and Valley Green Shredding of South Deerfield, this event will be back next year on the first Saturday after Tax Day.
