Westfield – Raul Gomez, 61, (1956-2018) passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Westfield to Francisco Gomez and the late Gladys (Quinones) Gomez and was a graduate of Westfield Vocational High School. He was employed as a C&C machine operator for Jen-Coat now ProAmpac for over 30 years. Raul loved to play golf, take his yearly trips to Montreal with his friends, golf in the Carolina’s and Poconos and visit his family in Puerto Rico. He was a member of St. Rocco’s, the Slovak Hall, Sons of Erin, St. Catherine’s Italian Club and enjoyed going to Rally’s. He is survived by his father, Francisco Gomez, his sisters, Elys Miranda and her husband Julio and Judith Chlastawa and her husband Frank, all of Westfield, his brother Roberto Gomez and his wife Idalia Lopez of Puerto Rico, his niece Lisa Miranda, and nephews, Eric Gomez, Kevin Gomez, Jayson Gomez, Anthony Miranda, Luke Chlastawa and Matthew Chlastawa. Raul will always be remembered for having a smile on his face. His funeral will be held on Monday at 11AM from the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, followed by a Mass at 12 noon in St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett St. Westfield. Burial will be private.
