WEBSTER, MA – Texas rockers ZZ Top stormed the Indian Ranch in Webster for an exciting Sunday afternoon show.   Originally starting as a rocking blues band, guitarist Billy Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard have all been together since 1969.

ZZ Top hasn’t put out any new music since 2012 and this afternoon was all about the hits the band has written throughout the years.  Opening with Got Me Under Pressure from 1983’s Eliminator was exactly what the fans where there for.  They ripped through three more songs before even really speaking to the audience.  I suppose they were letting the music do the talking.

Gimme All Your Lovin’ and Pearl Necklace, two crowd favorites keep the fans on their feet.  Guitarist Gibbons was in great form cruising through all the solos with ease.

Towards the end of the set, the band truly gave the fans what they came for and plowed through Just Got Paid, Sharp Dressed Man and Legs.  The last two from the Eliminator release and also ZZ Top’s most successful release, selling over 10 million copies in the United States.

ZZ Top left the stage briefly and came back with a two song encore that included a couple of their earlier hits, La Grange and Tush.   It is amazing they are still together and playing at such a high level.  It doesn’t seem like they are calling it quits any time soon either.

The Indian Ranch in Webster Mass has a couple of shows left for the season, so if you haven’t been, it’s worth the quick drive to see some great music in an outdoor setting located on a lake.   Poison lead Singer Bret Michaels is there on September 9th, Rick Springfield plays September 15th, Blackberry Smoke on September 16th,  HairFest, an all 1980’s concert of cover bands on September 22nd and rounding out the season is their 2nd annual Local CountryFest.
