Mike Augusti’s Rawk Report

Check out this event taking place in Hartford on Sunday called Downtown Rocks for Newtown. This is an all day event that spreads out over nine music venues with 50 bands taking part in it. Proceeds from all shows will be donated to help the families of Newtown CT. Some of the bands playing that day include, Max Creek, The Alternate Routes, Caravan of Thieves and Chicopee’s own Gone By Daylight. Tickets are $30 and available at www.ticketfly.com. Included in the ticket price is 10 percent off food at most places participating in the event. More information on this great event is available through their Facebook page www.facebook.com/DowntowRocksForNewtown.
Although it is only January, many venues are starting to announce summer shows. Some places that come to mind for great outdoor shows are The Comcast Theater in Hartford, The Bank of American Pavilion in Boston, Cape Cod  Melody Tent and, of course, Mountain Park in Holyoke. Keep checking back here each week for a full update on where your favorite artist might be showing up.
