WESTFIELD: Raymond Joseph Cote, of Westfield passed away Friday December 4, 2015. Born on January 29, 1960, Ray lived every day of his 55 years to the fullest. He graduated from Berkshire Community College in 1998 and MCLA in 2000, Summa Cum Laude, with a degree in communications (a fitting major for someone so loud and opinionated). He won numerous awards and scholarships because, as he was quick to point out, he was superior to anyone else. Ray was predeceased by his parents Raymond W. and Alice (Redmond) Cote. He is survived by so many loved ones including sisters Darlene Cote and her spouse Thomas Perry, Debbie and her husband Larry Rutherford, Patricia and her husband John Dudas, brother Kenneth and wife Carol Cote, nieces Chelsea Yothers, Shavonne Paroline, Nicole Rutherford, many nephew, great nieces and great nephews. One of Ray’s biggest accomplishments was his children, who he is also survived by. He leaves his son Ray and his wife Kelsey Cote and his grand kids Ian, Lauren and Rebecca, who he enjoyed weekly dinners with. He also leaves a daughter, Charlotte Webb and granddaughter Myja. Ray will be missed by many, including his friend P.J. and his best friend and partner-in-crime Norman Gray (no, not like that. Ray loved women!). Camping, boating and fishing were some of his favorite activities. Ray would do it all with a beer in his hand and a smile on his face. He was a jack-of-all-trades and handyman extraordinaire. Calling hours will be held Tuesday December 8, 2015 from 5-7 pm at Firtion Adams, located at 76 Broad St in Westfield. A private burial will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the Ray’s family. In lieu of flowers, please do a random act of kindness in Ray’s memory.
