WESTFIELD – Westfield State took the second, third, and fourth place spots in the 200 individual medley to earn the points needed as the Owls squeaked out a 147-146 win over UMass-Dartmouth in a women’s swim meet at the Ely Pool on Saturday.
Westfield State freshman Alex Frazier took second in the IM with a time of 2:32.33, Summer Walker placed third and Kristen O’Leary fourth to earn a total of nine points in the race for the Owls.
Anna Boucher won the 50 and 100 backstroke events and Tia Pariseau doubled up in winning the 50 and 100 yard breast stroke for Westfield. Haylee McQuay won the 50 butter fly for the owls in a time of 30.18.
That trio paired with Frazier to win the 200 medley relay for the Owls as well.
Westfield’s team performance off set a strong showing from the Corsairs Chrissy Deveaux who won the 1000 free, the 50 free and the 200 IM.
Westfield improves to 2-3 in dual meets this season. The Owls will jump back in the pool next Saturday to host Plymouth State at 1:00 p.m.
