HUNTINGTON – Readers at Littleville Elementary School were rewarded with a trip to the Mass Mutual Center to attend a Springfield Armor basketball game on March 15, as part of the new “Read to Achieve” program at the school. The program kicked off with an assembly in the Littleville gym with “Steal”, the Armor mascot and the Director of the Read to Achieve program. Students who took part read books for four consecutive weeks. Each week, staff collected their reading logs and distributed weekly prizes from program sponsors. Prizes included Friendly’s meal coupons, a free pass to Sonny’s Adventure Zone in Connecticut, and a free pass to the Basketball Hall of Fame. Students who completed all four weeks received a free ticket to the game. Students took part in a pre-game parade recognizing all of the students and schools who took part. Approximately 20 students from Littleville attended the game.
