Residents encouraged to sip for a good cause

WESTFIELD – Baystate Home Health is hosting the 13th Annual Wine and Beer Tasting on Friday June 2 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Tekoa Country Club in Westfield.

Tickets are available in advance of the event for $30 but only until June 1 after which they can be purchased at the door for $35. To buy tickets in advance, call 413-794-6414 or visit Baystatehealth.org/winetasting.

Kathy Tobin, the Director of Annual Giving and Events for the Baystate Health Foundation, encourages people to grab their tickets now.

“It’s almost been a sellout,” said Tobin. “We want people to get their tickets now because it’s a really fun night.”

In the recent years of the event, around 200 people have attended. Jennifer Gruszka, who is the Fundraising Events Coordinator for the Baystate Health Foundation, describes the event as a great way for individuals to socialize with one another.

“It’s also a great social event for everyone in Westfield,” said Gruszka.

The wine will be provided by the Westfield Spirit Shop, and Commercial Distributing will be providing the beer, along with Skyline Trading Company and The People’s Pint.

All of the proceeds for the wine and beer tasting will be going towards the homecare and hospice programs at Baystate Health.

The event also offers people an opportunity to be a “Friend of the Agency,” which allows someone to donate towards the homecare and hospice programs, even if they’re unable to attend. The donation that is made will then have that individual’s name listed in the event program. The categories are $100 for Private Reserve, $75 for Reserve, $50 for Vintner and $25 for Boutique.

The wine and beer tasting sponsors include Westfield Bank, Advanced Manufacturing, Westfield Gas and Electric, Westfield Electroplating Company, and Savage Arms.
