Reverend Paul A. Porter

St. Louis,  MO – Reverend Paul Aaron Porter, PhD, 60, passed suddenly in his sleep on Saturday, April 27, 2019. Paul is survived by his beloved wife Cindie Luhman (nee DeCoster); children Emme Porter DeWitt and Tristan (Laina) Porter; stepchildren Eric Luhman, Beth (Ryan) Gissal, and Trevor Luhman; grandchildren Jacqueline and Landon Porter; siblings Judy (Russ) Roberts, Billy (Susan) Porter, Patti Wood, and David (Kathy) Porter; many cousins, family, and friends. Paul is predeceased by his parents Calvin and June Porter (nee Clark) from Westfield, Mass. “Pastor Paul” was the beloved pastor of Eden United Church of Christ (Affton), served as the president of the Affton Christian Food Pantry, and had been active in fostering, rehabilitating and providing hospice for senior dogs with his wife Cindie through Senior Dogs 4 Seniors.

Services: The family will be available for visitation between 4-7pm on Sat., May 18, 2019. Memorial service is scheduled at 2pm on Sun., May 19, 2019. Both events at Eden United Church of Christ in Affton, 8920 Eden Ave, St. Louis, MO 63123. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Paul Porter Memorial Fund Eden United Church of Christ in Affton, 8920 Eden Ave, St. Louis, MO 63123. Funds will be donated to charities close to Paul’s heart: Affton Christian Food Pantry, IPM (International Partners in Mission), and to a memorial project dedicated to Eden UCC.

A celebration of life service for Paul will take place in Westfield in June. Details to follow.
