WESTFIELD: Richard Arthur Baillargeon passed away peacefully after a short illness on Aug 13, 2015 Richard was born on April 25 1934 to Arthur (“Archie the barber”) and Marion (Toupin) Baillargeon. Richard attended St. Mary’s Catholic School graduating 1951.
Richard began his Military career by enlisting during the Korean War 1952 and was awarded a honorable discharge in 1956. He then continued his Military career at the 104th Tactical Fighter Group (ANG) Barnes Municipal Airport Westfield, Ma. During that time he was deployed to Phalsbourg France, during the Berlin Wall crisis. Richard retired the 21st of May 1989 after receiving numerous awards and medals. Upon retirement Dick enjoyed his Antique business which included chair canning and restoring old and beautiful furniture. He loved fishing , boating and traveling extensively with his wife and soul mate Carol. He leaves behind his wife Carol (Giovanni) Buckelew,
his two sons Richard and Thomas, his daughters Lisa, grandson Thomas, Marie granddaughter Suzanne and two great daughters. Richard E. Buckelew (Kim) grandson Daniel and Ryan E. Buckelew and granddaughter Kaila. Sister Jean Egan and brother William His brother Donald and sister-in-law Ginny pre-deceased him. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. His service and burial will take place at the Ma. Veteran’s Cemetery Agawam Ma, 1390 Main Street in Agawam on Wednesday August 19th at 11 am according to Richards wishes. Firtionadams.com
