WESTFIELD – 
Richard F. Serrano, 76, (1943-2019) passed away at home on Monday, November 11, 2019. He was born in Los Angeles, CA to the late Raul and Lupe (Pena) Serrano. Richard served his country with the United States Army from 1967-1969, attaining the rank of SP4. He was employed as a custodian and maintenance for the Westfield Schools for nearly 30 years and retired in 2009. He was a member of the American Legion Post 124 and the Slovak Hall. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Cassandra A. (Rines) Serrano, his children, Richard Sampson of Dalton, MA, Michele Sampson with Todd Conant of Westfield and Joe Serrano of Easthampton, his siblings, Ralph, Bobby, Mercy and Dolores, all of California, his nine grandchildren, Brenda, Matthew, Darren, Kristie, Sara, Erika, Josh, Emily and Evan and five great grandchildren, Alex, Elizabeth, Gianni, Imogen and Hudson.
His funeral will be held on Thursday at 10AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA. A visiting hour will precede the service from 9-10AM in the funeral home. www.firtionadams.com
