Richard Joseph Puza

flagWESTFIELD- Richard (Dick) Joseph Puza Sr. of Westfield, passed away peacefully on Friday April 1, 2016 at the Soldiers Home in Holyoke. Dick was born in Westfield to Charles and Angeline (Jusczynski) along with his twin brother Robert. He graduated from Westfield Vocational High School and served in the United States Air Force. He worked many years as a carpenter in the construction field and as a maintenance supervisor for the Waldbaums Supermarket Chain. He was a life member of the Westfield Elks Lodge 1481. He leaves his wife of 56 years Cynthia (Ratter) Puza, son Randall and daughter Joslyn Luginbuhl, grandchildren Amy Dupuis, husband Nathaniel, Scott and Michael Luginbuhl, Carin Ciemniewski, Samantha Anderson, Kathryn and Kaitlynn Puza, nieces Elizabeth, Erica, Telisha and 2 great grandchildren. He also leaves his sisters Jane Kielbasa and Frances Sasur husband Mitchell, brothers Robert and Michael, sister-in-law Jean Lamoureaux as well as many other family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his son Richard J Jr, a niece Sharon Rynard and brothers Frederick, Edward and esley. A chapel service will be held at the Agawam Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 10:00am Wednesday April 6th followed by a memorial gathering at the Westfield Elks Lodge. The family wishes to thank the many caregivers at the Holyoke Soldiers Home, as well as Hospice of Western and Central Mass who provided compassionate care to Richard and support to his family.
