Richard Pierce

WESTFIELD – Richard Scott Pierce, (1939-2019)  known as Scott, passed away early Thursday morning, January 31, 2019, surrounded by his family. He grew up in Amherst, Massachusetts but lived in Westfield for the past 35 years. Scott loved his work as a truck driver, both cross-country and in the northeast and knew every diner on his various routes! He retired from Lane Construction fifteen years ago. The absolute greatest joy in his life was his family. He also loved the rocky coast of Maine, Jeopardy and taking long, peaceful drives through the country, especially on one of his many motorcycles. Scott leaves his wife, Lynda Pierce of Westfield, his sons Russell Pierce and wife Brooklyn of Florida, R. Skot Pierce and wife Christine of West Springfield, R. Steven Pierce and wife Andrea of Monson, Andrew Pierce of Westfield and Keven Pierce of Vermont. He was predeceased by his loving daughter Robin. He also leaves his adored grandchildren Kendra Forgues, Lachlan Pierce, J. Henry Pierce, Remiel Olson, and R. Simon Pierce, and his sister Susan Routhier along with several nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-laws. A memorial service for Scott will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Second Congregational Church, 487 Western Avenue, Westfield, MA. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 between 4-7pm at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield MA.
