WESTFIELD – Robert A. Sulewski, 77, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in a local nursing home. He was born on March 6, 1936 to the late Alexander and Katherine (Miezejewski) Sulewski.
He grew up in Westfield, attended local schools and was a graduate of Westfield Trade High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Bob worked as a mechanic for Barnes Service in Westfield for 25 years, Charlie’s Garage, Walt’s Brothers and Kuhnel’s Auto Repair all in West Springfield, and retired in 2010. He was a volunteer at Mercy Adult Day Care in Westfield.
He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years Josephine (Gonzales) Sulewski on January 6, 2006. He leaves his daughters, Alva M. Delcamp and her husband Randy of Westfield and Debbie J. Sulewski of Westfield; his grandchildren, Andrew, Casey, Kimberlee and Robin; his sisters, Alice Swanson and her husband Glen of Charlestown, NH, and Joyce Authier and her husband Roger of Monson; his nieces, Karen, Alison and Sharon, his great-nieces, Kimberly, Zoe, Hannah and Emma, and his great-nephew Alex.
The funeral for Bob will be held on Monday, June 3rd at 8:00 a.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in the Mass Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 9:00 a.m. Calling hours will be held on Sunday at the funeral home from 3″00-6:00 p.m.
